Looking to book your stay at Saturday Farm? Our goal is to make your experience here as care-free and enjoyable as possible. See below for a list of common FAQs, and please reach out to us if you have further inquiries.

How close is Saturday Farm to the beach?

Saturday Farm is about a 1/2 mile walk to three different beaches–Belmont, Seaview, and Inman. We have maps and detailed directions available for you when you arrive.

Is the house handicap accessible?

There is no handicap ramp leading into the house; however, there are only two steps into the house at both front and back entrances. Although Saturday Farm does have a second floor, two master bedroom suites are located on the ground floor and easily accessible to any guest. A special grab-bar has been installed in one of the ground-floor bathrooms for getting in and out of the tub and shower. The Harwich Council on Aging will loan out special chairs, equipment, and a beach wheel chair! Please let us know of any handicapped members of your family, and we will be happy to assist you.

How many people can be accommodated in the house?

The house features a total of four bedrooms–one king, two queens, and a fourth includes two twin beds and a double bed on the other side of the room; it also includes four full baths.

We have discovered over time that the house layout and kitchen space works nicely for a maximum of 8 people. The antique design also provides a very cozy experience for 2, 4, or 6 people. Any number of guests feels at home at the Saturday Farmhouse. Sorry, but we do not permit children or guests to sleep on sofas or in sleeping bags in guest bedrooms.

Are there any additional amenities?

The house features two sitting rooms, a living room and sunroom with a breakfast-eating nook. The dining room and sunroom each seat up to eight people. In the backyard, there is a picnic table, gas grill, hammock, fire pit with chairs, and a pen for the Baa Boys! Inside the house, you’ll find a myriad of old books, board games, and travel information about the area. We also have a croquet set and beach chairs for you to use. A Pack ‘n Play is available for our younger guests.

Is the kitchen fully equipped?

The kitchen is well-equipped with all of the cooking utensils and supplies you will need. We have a beautiful gas-burning antique stove, pots, pans, serving bowls, a coffeemaker, silverware, and dishes. We have provided dish soap, towels, and sponges for your convenience. When you arrive, you will find a clean, empty refrigerator. Please feel free to bring provisions along with you. If you are looking for something specific and don’t find it in the kitchen, please let us know.

Where can we pick up food in the area?

Just a short walk from Saturday Farm is Organic Market. A fifteen-minute drive into South Dennis will bring you to Ring Bros. Market (upscale grocery, wine, beer, deli, fish, and prepared foods); across the street is Stop and Shop (at Patriots Square). Harwich Farmer’s Market is open mid-June through October.

Is alcohol permitted?

Adults over the age of 21 are permitted to consume alcohol on our property. Please drink responsibly. Saturday Farm is located in a quiet, suburban neighborhood on the Cape. We try to be courteous toward our neighbors. Rowdy behavior due to drinking is not permitted.

Can I bring my dog?

We love animals so much, but usually we have to say no to pets. Once in a while we can make an exception, so feel free to give us a call to discuss. Any exception to our pet policy would involve an additional cleaning fee.

I tend to be allergic to animals and wool. Will I be allergic to the sheep?

No, it is not likely. It is rare that anyone is allergic to our sheep. If you’ve had a bad reaction to wool, it is probably either the processing chemicals involved or a specific type of wool with an itchy texture. Our boys, Bromley and Jobey, do not have this kind of fleece.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Please arrive no earlier than 3:00 PM for check in; check out is at 10:00 AM. We ask that you do not arrive earlier than 3:00 because we are all preparing the house for your arrival, and we want the house to be clean and beautiful. If you arrive unexpectedly early, Dennisport has some wonderful shops and Auntie's Ice Cream, or we recommend taking a walk to the beach!

Can I do laundry at the house?

Yes, there is a washer and a dryer. We also have a drying rack outside for towels, bathing suits, etc.  There is an outdoor shower for you to use in the backyard after a day on the beach.

What about linens?

All of your sheets, pillow cases, towels, washcloths, dish towels, and beach towels are provided.

Are there any additional charges other than the rental fee?

No. Your rental rate is quoted nightly. No other fees apply.

Will the owners be on the property, or accessible if I need something?

Cindy and Harry live in a small cottage house behind the Saturday Farmhouse. They take care of the Baa Boys daily. Mobile contact numbers are provided in the house in case you need anything.

What is there to do in the neighborhood?

There are lots of things to do on Cape Cod! We have a long list of suggested activities for you here when you arrive. A few options: Herring River Kayak provides daily and weekly kayak rentals for use on the Herring River, a scenic waterway surrounded by hundreds of miles of Harwich Conservation Land. If you do want to explore on two wheels, check out Essential Rentals. These super helpful folks will deliver bikes right to our doorstep. You can take the Harwich Ferry on an 80-minute trip over to Nantucket (June-September). A drive down to Hyannis will put you at the ferry terminal for an excursion to Martha’s Vineyard on various ship lines, with trips departing multiple times daily.
